Kaushik Prasath, founder
I'm Kaushik Prasath, and I build Ebb through my company, Xtenza Tech Private Limited. I'm an independent app developer, and I write the articles in the Ebb Journal.
Ebb started with reading. Before writing any code, I went through thousands of one-star reviews of the most popular period trackers. The same three complaints came up again and again: predictions that were confidently wrong for anyone whose cycle varies, free features quietly moved behind paywalls, and worry about where intimate health data was going.
So Ebb is built to do the opposite. It predicts your period as a realistic range with a confidence level instead of a fake-precise date; the prediction engine runs entirely on your iPhone, with no account and nothing uploaded to our servers; and the free tier is genuinely useful. The prediction model was tested against simpler averaging methods on large simulated sets of regular and irregular cycles before it shipped, and I say "simulated" deliberately: we'll only make claims about real-world accuracy once we have real-world data to back them.

Editorial standards
Periods and cycles are health topics, and people read about them when they're worried. That's a responsibility, so every article here follows the same rules:
- Sourced from clinical guidance and research. Medical statements are checked against bodies such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the NHS, Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic, and against peer-reviewed studies. Sources are listed at the end of each article.
- Written by a named person. I'm not a doctor or a nurse, and I won't pretend to be. Articles explain what the evidence says in plain language; they don't diagnose. Where something deserves a clinician's attention, the article says so clearly.
- No clinical review yet, and we say so. Articles are not currently reviewed by a medical professional. When that changes, each reviewed article will name its reviewer and their credentials.
- Honest about our interest. We make Ebb. Where an article compares period trackers, it says so up front, sticks to claims you can verify, and names where other apps do something well.
- Updated, not re-dated. When an article changes in a meaningful way, it shows an "Updated" date. We never change dates without changing the content.
- Corrections welcome. If you spot an error, email contact@xtenzatech.com. Factual corrections are made promptly.
